Forming wire

Process

In multi-station presses, the wire is guided into the machine after straightening using infeed rollers or a linear infeed system.
The blank is sheared off using a closed blade which transports the cut section to the transfer station. The cut section is pushed into the first transport gripper and conveyed by the workpiece transport to the first forming station. Once the first forming process has been performed the blank is guided to another pair of grippers by an ejector pin, and transported to the next forming station.

A production speed of between 80 – 200 parts per minute is possible in state-of-the-art presses (depending on the diameter of the articles).
